Thank you to everyone who contributed to the relief for Hurricane Katrina.
The party was a huge success. On very short notice, we had about 15 people stop by and many more contributed to the effort. So far, we have raised more than $300 and the donations keep coming in.
After some debate, we decided that Nathan should take the cash with him when he left for Louisiana on Sunday morning. He was planning to give money directly to refugees in need, to purchase supplies for those in need, or to donate the money to one of the organizations: most likely Red Cross or Oxfam.
If anyone would like to contribute, you can send the money to me and I will forward to Nathan, or you could donate directly to one of the charities (links below).

I got a brief message from Nathan this morning. He arrived in Baton Rouge, and he worked his first shift at one of the temporary medical centers monday night. He sounded a bit tired, but is doing fine and said it was good to be doing something productive.
